By the end of the evening, to my pleasant surpirse, many of my best pieces were sold.\u00a0 Saturday we had a steady stream of people dropping in to take a look.\u00a0 Most didn&#8217;t leave empty handed.<\/p>\n<p>Between Melissa&#8217;s pieces and mine, we had a nice mix of styles.\u00a0 A skilled potter and hand builder, Melissa is known for her\u00a0 intricate leaf platters, julip cups, and bamboo pieces glazed in signature white, celadon, blue, or yellow. I wasn&#8217;t known for anything, so that was half the fun. After a year, though, my style is starting to emerge.\u00a0 I showed teapots, bowls, mugs, and mini-bud vases.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.turtlepottery.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0177.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-34\" title=\"2006_green_teapot_2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.turtlepottery.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0177-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Green Teapot\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.turtlepottery.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0177-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.turtlepottery.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0177-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Green Teapot<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Most of my pieces are simple, useful, and sturdy.\u00a0 I have tended toward greens, blues, and browns in my glaze choices, which might be summaried as earthtones. Together, our pottery compliments each other &#8211; something for any taste.
